MPO - Metropolitan Planning Organization

So, I go to the Sept. 24 WNC Alliance workshop on transportation and hear about the Metropolitan Planning Organizations. In our region, it's the French Broad River MPO. I'm thinking that of course it has something to do with transportation. I wonder, and ask, what else might be included in its planning? Nothing, just transportation. Interesting, I think, but kind of misleading and not quite the transparent name one would expect.

Nevertheless, for those of us who want to keep tabs on government planning regarding transportation in our region, the FBRMPO is a great place to start.
