Asheville Redefines Transit - Volunteers Wanted!
Here's a way Transition can help the city with the new and major changes to the transit system. Dylan, can we put this announcement in the newsletter?
Help the City of Asheville roll out the biggest service enhancement in the history of the transit system. Volunteers will learn about enhancements to transit like: google maps, route optimization and increased frequency then share this knowledge with others as an ambassador riding on the bus! Volunteers will help fellow riders learn the new routes and schedules while answering general questions about transit. Volunteers will be asked to participate in a brief training before their shift. Volunteers will be equipped with maps, FAQ's and a cool tee-shirt they can keep. This volunteer opportunity is part of the community education with the re-design of the Transit system aimed at providing information about changes in routes and services. More information on location of the project will be shared at a volunteer training for the project. Please go to this link http://alturl.com/aoub4 and "express interest" to get the orientation information. Volunteer dates and times vary starting May 14, 2012 through May 30th, 2012.
